The weekend of March 18 & 19 I will be returning to the Sam Beauford Woodworking Institute in Adrian, Michigan to teach a “SketchUp for Woodworkers” class. If you’ve been wanting to learn how to make 3D models of your woodworking projects this is your opportunity to join the thousands of woodworkers I have shared my experience with since 2010. We will hit the ground running Saturday morning and by Sunday afternoon you will have an understanding of the SketchUp software and a bunch of efficient techniques to speed the process of modeling. Woodworkers who know how to use SketchUp arrive in the shop with several advantages and the confidence that comes from knowing how each and every part of your project fits with all the others.
I taught this same class last November and also conducted weekly online SketchUp classes for the students in the SBWI Furniture Making & Design Program. It is a wonderful facility, you will meet great people and you will be well on your way to enjoying the benefits of 3D modeling. Space is limited and registration is now open through the school.
Click Here & Sign Up Today! Bring your laptop and join me for a weekend of 3D modeling with SketchUp. As always we will focus on the common hurdles to learning this amazing software for design, engineering, presenting and managing your next project. New users as well as those with experience in using SketchUp will come away with a better understanding of the basics and an easy path to more advanced areas of modeling. The big advantage of a live, in person class is that I can look over your shoulder and guide you to the best way to achieve your goals. One of my core principles for teaching SketchUp is that using the program ought to be easy, fun and efficient with tangible results when you get to the shop. If your experience with SketchUp isn’t like that, come join me in March.
