Shop Drawings for Craftsman Inlays & Hardware
Original Designs by Gustav Stickley & Harvey Ellis
This unique book presents full-size patterns for the inlay designs and hardware originally used in Craftsman Furniture. Text includes history of these designs and the designers, materials and techniques.
My last copy of this book was shipped on February 22, 2013. The drawings and most of the text for this book are included in the “Great Book of Shop Drawings for Craftsman Furniture”.
The drawings contained in this book are available on disc in electronic format.
Each inlay pattern and hardware profile is presented in AutoCAD .dxf file format. If you have CAD software that will open this file format, you can:
- print full-size patterns
- insert inlay patterns into your own CAD drawings
- insert hardware profiles into your own CAD Drawings
- generate CNC programs for laser cutting inlays
- generate CNC programs for routing inlays

Hi Bob,
I was wondering if you might write a book to match this one for creating the inlays in wood, or suggest a few references.
Thank you,
John
It’s not on my “to do” list at present. I would highly recommend Silas Kopf’s dvd and book. I would also recommend staring at his work for an extended period of time.
