Next Saturday morning I will be giving a presentation about Arts & Crafts period furniture to the Cincinnati Woodworking Club. The club has been around for 40 years and this meeting will be held at the Edward Mueller Company, 101 E. Benson Street in Cincinnati. Mueller is a machinery/power tool dealer that has also been around for a long time. The showroom will be open from 9am-1pm. My presentation will cover the history of this period and practical methods for construction, joinery and finishing. I will be showing slides and demonstrating how a couple of smaller pieces go together.
Doors open at 8:00am, the club business meeting starts at 9:00 and my presentation will begin around 9:30. I will be happy to answer questions and I will have copies of my books available. The Arts & Crafts period is one of the most popular yet least understood styles of furniture and my research and experience will provide you with both an understanding of the history and solid techniques for building your own pieces. I hope to see you there.
