Designed by Harvey Ellis, this bureau and several related pieces are among the best-proportioned furniture ever designed. Small in stature, its dignified appearance and simple elegance make it seem much larger when viewed in isolation. This piece appeared in the old catalogs in several variations-different types of hardware, and with or without paneled sides.
The legs have been described as bowed, but they are actually tapered toward the top as well as the bottom.
Plans include detailed drawings printed on two 24″ X 36″ sheets and a bill of materials.
