My friends at SketchUp were kind enough to ask me to contribute a post about how I use the software in designing and planning woodworking projects. You can read it on the Official SketchUp Blog (and find out just what kind of mess I make when working on a project). It truly is the best tool I’ve found for designing, planning, understanding and illustrating almost anything.
As a side note, all the pieces of furniture in the picture started as SketchUp models, and you can find those models in the 3D Warehouse.

Bob, Want to take this opportunity to thank you for your time this last week at Marc Adams School of Woodworking. Your instruction on using Sketch Up was outstanding. It surely provided me with a better understanding of all the application has to offer. Though I knew that it could do many of the tasks discussed, I had no idea of how to efficiently use the techniques. The instruction will definitely save me hours of time in my design work. Thank you again. Looking forward to participating in a future class!
Thanks Mike, it was great to have you in the class, it was a fun week for me. Hope to see you again.
