Woodworker’s Guide to SketchUp Reviews

Woodworkers Guide SketchUp

This is an example of one of the pages in the “New Woodworker’s Guide to SketchUp”

I think my books are pretty good; they mix text and video in a digital format (PDF). These different methods reinforce each other so no matter what your learning style is you “get it” faster than you would with just a book or just a video. This format also makes it easy to search and find the information you need quickly whether it’s your first time through or you’re returning to find the specifics on a certain task.

The information and techniques are all based on my use of SketchUp, and the common stumbling blocks I have dealt with in teaching how to be efficient in 3D modeling since 2009.

I have an obvious bias, as I’m the guy who writes and publishes. (I’m also the guy that fills your order and answers your questions.) The importan question is “what do other people think” about this stuff?

In addition to selling my books here, I also sell them (disc version only) on Amazon. Here are a few recent reviews of the “New Woodworker’s Guide to SketchUp”  from Amazon purchasers:

5.0 out of 5 stars This for me is the best of the lot

I have purchased 3 other books/training material sets in my effort to master Sketchup. This for me is the best of the lot. SU has a number of subtleties that you must be aware of to make operations work as expected. Mr Lang does an excellent job of conveying those. His extensive experience in teaching SU is reflected in the material. The only shortcoming for me, was the lack of hard copy. I printed out a copy and bound it with plastic combs so it would lay flat on my desk while I worked with SU on my computer. This is a minor quibble for me given the quality of the book. Also, the embedded videos in the PDF are very useful in clearing up points that may not be clear from a text only description. Thank you Mr Lang.

5.0 out of 5 stars This is the best SketchUp book for woodworkers I’ve found.

As a lifelong self learner I have found finding the right book that states concepts concisely and clearly is key to speeding up the learning process. I am also a self taught woodworker. SketchUp is an invaluable tool for woodworkers and this is the best book I have found to get you up and going from a journeyman woodworkers point of view. Excellent clearly explained videos are also included in the book. I’ve been fumbling around with SketchUp for a while and this book set me straight. If you are a woodworker and want to learn SketchUp as quickly as possible this is the book to start and end with. Thank you Mr. Lang.
